HOW TO ENTER
Any first collection of at least 40 pages published in printed book form in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland between 1st August 2007 and 31st July 2008 is eligible.
Three bound or proof copies with a note of the date of publication must be received by 31st July 2008.

The shortlist of up to five titles will be released in October 2008.
FUNDING
The Jerwood Aldeburgh First Collection Prize is funded by the
Jerwood Charitable Foundation which is dedicated to responsible and imaginative funding of the arts, education in its widest sense, design, and other areas of human endeavour. In the field of literature it supports, among other things, Jerwood New Playwrights at the Royal Court, Jerwood First Film Shorts, First Development, Critical & Creative Writing Courses at Cove Park, the Jerwood / Arvon Young Writers’ apprenticeships, the Jerwood Collections Centre at The Wordsworth Trust and The Royal Society of Literature / Jerwood Awards for Non-Fiction.
